2021 Coaching Staff
Head Coach - Brian Worhatch
Brian is entering his ninth season as head coach of the Dublin Scioto swim team. He graduated from Ashland University with a degree in Sport Management and minor in coaching. While at Ashland he swam on the varsity swim team and where he earned 6 All-American Awards. His coaching background consists of five years of summer league coaching in the Youngstown area. Along with Dublin Sea Dragons and Dolphins which he started in May of 2013.
Assistant Coach - Dan Harris
Coach Harris has coached swimming for 22 years. Prior to coming to Dublin Scioto, Coach Harris was the head coach at Olentangy and Olentangy Orange High Schools from 2000-2018. In that time his teams won 3 OCC championships and qualified a large number of swimmers to the OHSAA state championships. His career also includes stints at the Powell Pool Summer Program (‘Tangy Tornadoes- 13 seasons), Reynoldsburg High School, and the Bucyrus Area YMCA. A graduate of THE Ohio State University, Coach Harris currently resides in Dublin with his family.
Assistant Coach - Blake Blazek
This is her first year as an assistant coach at Dublin Scioto. Blake swam competitively for 14 years and joined her first swim team at the age of 4. She was mainly swam breaststroke and 200 IM was her favorite event to swim. Following high school, Blake graduated from Ohio University, and then went back to school for her Masters Degree in Special Education at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Blake is currently an Intervention Specialist at both Scioto and Coffman High School.
Assistant Coach - Emily Worhatch
This will be Emily’s seventh season assisting Dublin Scioto. She previously swam competitively for 16 years, where she was a sprint freestyler and butterflyer. In high school, she was a record holder, voted most valuable swimmer all four years and a state qualifier. Following high school, she graduated from The Ohio State University, where she swam on the varsity swim team and got a degree in middle childhood education. She is currently a 9th grade math teacher at a public charter school in Westerville. Emily is also coaching at the Westerville Aquatic Club (WAC) this fall/winter season.
